Guardianship

If an individual does not have the capacity to create a General Power of Attorney or Health Care Power of Attorney, a guardian may be appointed through a proceeding before the clerk.  The guardian then has the authority to handle that individual’s financial and/or health matters.  Our attorneys can assist with the filing of the guardianship paperwork, appearing with you at the hearing, and assisting with the ongoing responsibilities the guardian has to the court.
